Tailored sessions
In addition to submitting individual abstracts, tentative participants are invited to propose additional sessions for the 4th World conference of the International Society for the Social Sciences of Sport (ISSSS). Proposed sessions should be relevant to the conference theme which is Social and Human Sciences, Sport and Physical Culture: History, Contemporaneity, and Future.
Sessions may take the form of presented papers, panels, discussions, workshops, or something else. Innovative sessions and formats are encouraged. Sessions will be scheduled according to optimum programme management.
Session Format Overview
Each panel session (3-4 speakers) is either 75 or 90 minutes in duration. Each panel session proposal must include at least three speakers or a maximum of four per panel with one session moderator/chair.
A maximum of two speakers per session may be affiliated to the same organization or institution. The session organizer is not required to be one of the speakers; they must, however, attend the conference.
Session proposals should include a title which quickly and succinctly describes the content and relevance of the session (15-word limit) and a brief description which explains the focus and significance of the session (100-word limit). The proposed format (presented papers, panels, discussions, etc.) should be included in the proposal.
Session proposals should include the names of at least three participants that will attend the conference if the session is accepted. Session chairs will review submitted papers in collaboration with the Conference Committee.
Participants may not normally make more than two contributions to the conference program. Please keep this limitation in mind and remind contributors of this requirement when accepting paper proposals for a session.
The Session proposals should be sent to the e-mail address:
Session proposals will be collected until 15th June 2012. All sessions proposals will be reviewed by the Conference Committee before being accepted for the conference. The organizers hope to confirm formal acceptance of sessions by email by 30th June 2012.
